Where to find it
On Yanmar ViO and SV mini excavators the machine serial plate is on the right or left side of the front face of the machine, below the operator’s compartment. The engine has its own separate serial number, on a plate on the valve cover and stamped on the engine block, do not confuse the engine serial with the machine serial.
Finding the year
Yanmar mini-excavator serial numbers do not encode the model year the way a vehicle VIN does. To confirm the year, use the machine documentation, or give the full machine model and serial to a Yanmar dealer, who can look it up.
