Where to find it
- Mini excavators (TB series): the identification plate is on the right or left side of the front face of the machine, below the operator’s compartment.
- Track loaders (TL series): on the front of the machine under the front glass or operator door. On some TL models the serial is also stamped on the frame near the rear tag.
On many Takeuchi machines the plate is also mounted inside the cab on a pillar, or on the right-side main frame. Confirm the plate matches any stamped number.
Reading the plate and the year
The plate lists the model designation (TB, TL or TS followed by a number), the serial number, and the manufacture year. Takeuchi does not publish a universal year-from-serial decode across its range, so the plate is the official source for the year. For the exact model and build details, give the full serial to an authorized Takeuchi dealer.
