Where to find it
- Backhoe loaders: on a plate inside the cab at the base of the left dash panel, or on the left frame rail near the door jamb.
- Skid steers and compact track loaders (SR, SV, TR, TV): on the rear of the machine, under the base of the left lift arm.
- Excavators: on the right side, at the bottom edge of the cab below the windshield.

How the format works
Modern Case Construction equipment uses a 17-character PIN built to the ISO standard, so the tenth character encodes the model year. Some older or specific Case machines used a shorter product identification number that does not encode the year the same way.
