- Skid steers and compact track loaders (S-series, T-series, R-series): on the exterior of the frame. It is commonly on the outer right-hand chassis just forward of the rear tire, or on the left side at the rear under the lift arm. On newer machines it is often on the curb side behind the cab, between the lift and hydraulic arms.
- Excavators (E-series such as the E35, E50, E85): on the upper house frame inside the operator platform, usually near the seat.
